Results and changes for Show Us What You Got

February 2, 2009

Due to private matters and prelims keeping me busy, I was unable to publish this post on time and I apologise for any inconvience this has caused.

However, from reviewing your responses, I have decided what needs to be changed. Some of these changes include:

BANDS EPISODES

>     Some format changes such as reducing the bands backstory section to a brief mentioning in guest introduction.
>    Musical influences and inspirations sections will be merged.
>    And attempt to reduce the interview length to approximately 15-17 minutes, from 20 minutes in the Advent Magic pilot.
>   As well as better sound quality for the music and interview.

TALENT SHOWDOWN EPISODE

>    Some format changes such as the musical influences and inspirations sections to be merged into one.
>    Better sound quality for music and interviews.
>    The overall length of episode to be reduced. New maximum length not yet confirmed.
>    Better prizes for winners.

BLOG AND OTHER CHANGES

>    Inclusion of additional [and frequently updated] content such as: guest gig and song details, etc.
>    Updating of FAQ and About SUWYG pages.
>    Changing programme hosts from MyBloop.com and MediaFire. New host to be confirmed.
>    Posts and episodes to be released on time.
>    Many more minor tweaks as well.

The upcoming series release dates have not yet been confirmed, but they will be confirmed in the next few days.

The Listener Survey has now closed.

January 18, 2009

The Listener Survey for Show Us What You Got has now closed with sufficient variation of responses. If you have participated in the survey during it’s original run – or during it’s reopening over the past week – then thank you for taking the time and effort to help shape the future of Show Us What You Got.

Over the next couple of weeks – with use of your survey responses, my own assessment of the pilots and this website – improvements to Show Us What You Got will become reality. Some of these changes will be revealed to you on Friday 30th of January 2009, along with more details of the upcoming first series.

Thank you once again and if you’re in fifth or sixth year – all the best on your upcoming prelims.

Last chance for the Listener Survey

January 17, 2009

The Show Us What You Got Listener Survey closes it’s doors at midnight tonight.

If you haven’t done so, click here, complete the listener survey and make your voice heard on what is good and bad about Show Us What You Got.

Some more time on that listener survey

January 11, 2009

For the last three weeks, I have been asking you to express your opinions on what you liked and what you didn’t like about Show Us What You Got. I have reviewed the current responses and since the results are so varied – I have been unable to reach a definite conclusion of what to change for the upcoming first series.

Because of this, the Show Us What You Got Listener Survey will be reopened for one week only. This will allow additional responses help to create a clearer picture of what needs to be changed. The reopened survey will have the exact same questions as the survey released back three weeks ago.

If you have already completed the survey, thank you for taking the time to complete it. Please tell anyone else who has listened to the Show Us What You Got pilots to fill in this survey.

If you haven’t then click here to begin the survey. The survey closes on Sunday 18 of January 2009 at Midnight.

After the closing date – with sufficent number of responses – the responses will be reviewed, details on the changes and dates for the first series will be published in Late January.
